The generation that raised us deserves better care.

Many senior citizens in India spend their final years in quiet struggle — without adequate care, medical support, companionship or financial safety. Samivra runs verified senior welfare fundraisers for old-age homes, medical treatment, meal programmes and companionship — with funds paid directly to institutions and verified caregivers.

Voices from the ground

What dignity actually looks like

Anonymised voices from campaigns we've supported. Names and identifying details withheld at the request of families and institutions.

My pension stopped coming three years ago. I didn't know where to go. The people from the home helped me apply again — it took eight months, but now I can buy my own medicines. A 72-year-old widow Lucknow · Pension-access programme
After my hip surgery I couldn't walk for four months. A physiotherapist came twice a week. It wasn't the medicine — it was having someone who believed I would walk again. A 78-year-old former teacher Kanpur · Post-surgery rehabilitation
My son sends money sometimes. But what I needed most was someone to talk to. The volunteers who visit every Sunday — they're the reason I don't feel invisible anymore. An 80-year-old retired clerk Varanasi · Companionship programme

Fund flow

Where the money goes — and where it doesn't

Senior welfare fundraisers prioritise transparency and direct payment to verified institutions and caregivers.

Donation received

Funds collected via verified payment channels in a designated campaign account.

Case verification

Senior's identity, medical documents (if applicable) and institution documentation are reviewed before approval.

Direct payment to institution

Funds are released to the old-age home, hospital or registered caregiver — not to the family's personal account.

Milestone release

Long-term care (monthly meals, rent, caregiver salaries) is released in stages against service delivery reports.

Excess handling

If funds exceed the verified need, excess is either returned to donors or redirected to another senior welfare case — with disclosure.

Receipts & closure

Donors receive receipts. A final fund utilisation summary is prepared and the campaign is closed.

FAQ

Common questions about senior welfare crowdfunding

Can funds be paid directly to the old-age home or hospital?

Yes — and this is our default. Funds are released directly to the institution against verified estimates, service agreements and bills. This protects both donors and the senior, and ensures the money reaches where it's meant to.

What if the senior doesn't have family or a guardian?

In that case, the institution itself (old-age home, NGO or hospital) can raise on the senior's behalf — with the senior's own written consent and institutional documentation. Self-consent from a competent senior is always preferred; in cases of cognitive impairment, legal guardian documentation is required.

How is privacy protected?

Seniors have the right to privacy and dignity. Public campaign pages use first names only or initials, photographs are used only with written permission, and sensitive medical details are never displayed publicly. Full documentation is verified privately.

Do you support pension access or government scheme help?

Yes, as a support service component. Fundraisers can cover the cost of helping a senior access pensions, Ayushman Bharat or other entitlements — including travel and documentation help. Direct pension disbursement is not handled by us; we support the process.

Can I raise funds for my own parent?

Yes — with proof of relationship, the senior's consent, and medical or service documentation depending on the need. Family-raised fundraisers are common for medical treatment and rehabilitation.

Are donations tax-deductible?

Not automatically. Tax benefits depend on whether the fundraiser is run through a registered trust or Section 8 entity with valid 12A/80G certification. Campaigns raising under an eligible entity may offer 80G receipts, and this is clearly stated on those campaign pages.
